Dr. Min-Ki Lee, a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering has been appointed as an Assistant Professor at Chosun University in the Department of Mechanical Engineering

Dr. Min-Ki Lee, a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (supervised by Prof. Jin-Ki Lee), has been appointed as an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Chosun University, starting from September 2023.

Dr. Lee received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University in February 2021. His doctoral research was focused on the "Development of capillarity-driven liquid manipulation systems through understanding the physics in nature." Afterward, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Sungkyunkwan University for 8 months, conducting research on the impact of ink viscosity on roll-to-roll gravure printing results. Following that, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) for 10 months, investigating DNA behavior and membrane filtration using microchannel forces. Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania, conducting research on functional fiber fabrication using liquid crystals and exploring experimental automation techniques using artificial intelligence/machine learning.

Dr. Lee has published a total of 12 SCI papers and received various awards, including the Excellent Thesis Award from the Bioengineering Division of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Excellent Paper Award from the Korean Society of Fluid Engineering, the Excellent Paper Award from the Bioengineering Division of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the Excellent Paper Award from the Korea Association for Image Information.

Recently, he published a paper titled "Enhanced Liquid Transport on a Highly Scalable, Cost‐Effective, and Flexible 3D Topological Liquid Capillary Diode" as the first author in Advanced Functional Materials (IF: 19.924).

Dr. Lee stated that he will make efforts to deeply research the development of key elements for sustainable, energy-independent devices based on fluid mechanics and to establish an automated experimental system using artificial intelligence/machine learning for the optimization of functional materials.
