Dr. Ye-sung Jeong, Dr. Tae Lee (Department of Economics) appointed as Associate Professors of Domestic and Foreign Universities

Economics graduates, Dr. Ye-sung Jeong obtained a bachelor’s degree in global economics in 2011 and went on to earn a master’s degree in economics in 2014 and Dr. Tae Lee received his bachelor’s degree in economics in 1998 and completed his Combined Master’s and PhD program with economics in 2009. The two were appointed as Associate professors in 2023 for the School of Business at the University at Albany SUNY and the Department of Economics at Gyeongsang National University, respectively.


Dr. Jeong Ye-sung obtained a bachelor's degree in global economics in 2015 from SKKU, and in the same year, he entered Combined Master’s and PhD program in the economics department. (under advisor Prof. Joonmo Cho). She then entered Auburn University in the U.S. in 2019 and will earn a Ph.D. in business administration in 2023 under the title of "Three-essays on the Applications of Learning Algorithms in Business Studies."


Dr. Jeong's research interests lie in the applications of learning algorithms in business studies, with a particular emphasis on examining the differences in the process of resolving the initial job/job dissonance in the labor market across different countries and proposed customized policies. Recently, he has also conducted empirical research on the effects of Korea's Kim Young-ran Act on the Korean golf industry.


Dr. Tae Lee, on the other hand, obtained his bachelor’s degree in economics in 2006 and his Master’s degree in the Combined Master’s and PhD program in 2012 under the guidance of Professor Joon mo Cho. From 2013 to 2019, he obtained a Ph.D. under the title of "Essays on Labor Market Policies" from the University of Missouri – Columbia, and later worked for two years at the Korean Women’s Development Institute of Samsung Economic Research Institute (SERI). Subsequently, was appointed as the Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Gyeongsang National University for the spring semester of 2023."


Dr. Tae Lee also published numerous SSCI papers with his advisor, including research on identifying how permanent/temporary work discrimination and gender discrimination are generated under the labor market mechanisms in Korea and Japan. This research was published in JJIE, Japan's top academic journal.
