Department of History provides a Master’s degree Paper of Excellence Scholarship
Department of History provides a Scholarship of 10 million won to the candidate that writes the best master’spaper among the students who continue their study as Ph. D. after completing their master’s. The alumni from the class of 1990, Tae Hun Kim (T Investment CEO) and Tae Sung Choi (Head of Byulbyul Korean History Research Center), will donate 10 million every year for funding.
On April 18th, the first 10million won was donated, and the first Scholarship beneficiary is Ph.D. studentJi Wan Lee. The scholarship presentation ceremony was held with the Dean ofHumanities college, the donors, professors, and students from the department of history.
The Chair professor of the history department, Sang Dong Lee, disclosed that student Ji Wan, Lee, was selected due to the clarity of thesis, originality of research, detailed and comprehensive interpretation of historical records, and analytic & readable writing skills.
The alumni Tae Hun, Kim, and Tae Sung,Choi, asserted their will to express love for their juniors and contribute to department of history's academic development. The student who received to scholarship, Ji WanLee, complied with the donors' wish by continuing intense research.
