Appointed as Assistant Professor at Sejong University 

and The Academy of Korean Studies

Do-hyung Kim (majored in Japanese thought) and Jang Shin (majored in Korean modern history), who received doctorates in East Asian Studies at SKKU’s Academy of East Asian Studies, were appointed as assistant professors at Sejong University and The Academy of Korean Studies each.


Dr. Do-hyung Kim, who was appointed as the assistant professor of Japanese literature at Sejong University in March 2020, received his doctorate degree in 2014 with 「A Study of Kato Hiroyuki’s Early Political Thought」(Supervisor: Miyajima Hiroshi). He has served as a research fellow at Tokyo University, a BK21+ research professor at Youngnam University, a HK research professor at SKKU’s the Academy of Korean Studies, and a trustee of the Korea Association for Japanese Thought.


Dr. Jang Shin, who was appointed as the assistant professor of Korean history at the Academy of Korean Studies in September 2020, received his doctorate degree in February 2020 with 「A Study on the Policy of Thought Conversion by the Japanese Government-general of Korea in the 1930s and 1940s」(Supervisor: Ki-hyung Han). He has served as a lecturer at Yonsei University, an expert commissioner at Presidential Committee for the Inspection of Collaborations for Japanese Imperialism, and a senior research commissioner at the Institute for Korean Historical Studies.
