Professor Hyun-hee Kim of the Department of Performing Arts was Awarded Commendation by Seoul City Council for Contributions to the Development of Culture and Arts and Cultivation of Professionals

On July 21st, in recognition of her contributions to the development of local culture and arts, the cultivation of artistic talent, and the reduction of information disparities in arts education, Professor Hyun-hee Kim from the Department of Performing Arts was awarded a commendation by the Seoul City Council.

Professor Kim has served as an advisory member of the Gangnam District Office and a consultant to the Nepal Cultural Center in South Korea. She has contributed to △policy formulation for the activation of local culture and arts △artistic promotion that incorporates the unfamiliar traditions and history of Nepalese culture △consultation on the operation of Nepalese cultural arts, thereby contributing to the development of local culture and arts and enhancing their mutual value.

Furthermore, she introduced the first domestic stage called Movement and physical drama genre, planning and directing outstanding performances for over 20 years, nurturing excellent artistic talents as an arts education leader. She has also made efforts to broaden the foundation of cultural and arts activities and contribute to arts education by providing accurate information on performing arts education through YouTube's K-stage, thus alleviating educational disparities caused by information deficiencies.

Professor Kim stated, "I will continue to expand the social value of performing arts through both research in performing arts education and social contributions."
