The research team of SKKU led by Prof. Mun Seok JEONG has developed a semiconductor device control technology using graphene oxide.

A method to control electrical characteristics was introduced in the past, but it was not applicable in certain layers which have high photoelectric efficiency. Many research studies were performed in order to resolve this problem, but eventual decrease in efficiency was unavoidable.

However, Prof. JEONG and his team have successfully demonstrated the controlling of electrical characteristics of 2 dimensional semiconductor materials and the application of particles. Via this technology, they also succeeded to create horizontal homogeneous diode.

This technology can be applied to various fields including inorganic photoelectric wearable light detector, solar cell light emitting diode; and is expected to extend the lifecycle of organic semiconductors. The results of this study were published in ACS Nano on Nov. 23rd.
