SKKU, top employment rate among major universities 2015.09.09

In an analysis on the employment rate for major universities in Seoul in June of this year, Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU)’s rate was 68%, making it ‘the highest’ with Korea Univ.,·Sogang Univ and ·Hanyang Univ.

- Seoul National Univ. 59.5%· & Yonsei Univ. 57.7%
- Hongik Univ. ranks top on Scholarship per capita
- Seoul National Univ. has the highest money of education

 

Except for special-purpose universities such as education universities, SKKU has the highest employment rate for June of this year in major universities in Seoul. The school which gave the most scholarship per person for students on average, was Hongik University. And Seoul National University invested the most in student education.

 

- Average employment rate 54.1% of major universities in Seoul

 

On Sep. 1st, based on statistical results from the health insurance database, and the  official university information web-site, ‘University Alimi’, as of June of 2015, out of the four year universities SKKU (68.3%) has the highest employment rate among the major universities in Seoul.

 

Including Seoul National University of Education (SNUE) which is one of special-purpose universities, the employment rate of SNUE(74.9%) is the highest, followed by Korea Univ.(65.8%), Sogang Univ.(65.4%), Hanyang Univ.(63.3%) and Seoul National Univ.(59.5%). Yonsei University was only 57.7%, putting it at 10th place out of the major universities in Seoul.

 

The average employment rate for the 27 universities in Seoul was 54.1%. The rate of women schools were relatively lower. There were 6 women university, Ehwa, Sookmyung, Duksung, Seoul Woman’s, Sungshin, Dongduck. fell short of the average employment rate

 

- Scholarship is Hongik, investment to education is SNU

 

The school that gave the most scholarship per student, was Hongik University with 3,641,100 won. Followed by Sungshin Woman’s (3,383,600 won), Sungkyunkwan (3,348,700 won), Duksung Woman’s (3,174,800 won), Yonsei(3,139,400 won). Sookmyung and Ewha were 3,121,300 won and 2,942,900 won respectively. SNU was Korea respectively took 7th and 12th place out of the 27 schools. University of Seoul by implementing “the half tuition”policy showed the least scholarship support of 1,468,400 won per person among the major universities in Seoul. The average scholarship per head of major universities in Seoul was 2,835,000 won, somewhat lower than the average scholarship of all universities nationwide (2,932,000 won).

 

When it comes to education expenditure per person used for remodeling educational facilities, having professors and expanding ‘many kinds of books’ and ‘experiment equipments and materials’, SNU was the used most with 42,343,000 won. This was followed by Yonsei (27,256,500 won), Sungkyunkwan (22,279,800 won), Korea (30,335,000 won), Hanyang (18,988,500 won). Ewha and Sookmyung were both 17,474,000 won and 12,069,500 won. The average education cost per person of 27 schools in Seoul was 14,917,600 won.

 

Seoul Tech University and Seoul National University of Education were proved as the universities with the highest research capability in academics papers, domestically of internationally, from full time faculty, which showed a rate of 1.6 papers a year per full-time faculty. This was followed by Korea., SKKU, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, and Hanyang. with a rate of 1.4 papers.
