On August 9, SungKyunKwan University (SKKU) won the 49th Daetongryeonggi national college baseball tournament finals against WONKWANG University by 2 – 0, at the Mok-dong Stadium. It's been 4 years since SKKU took the title in 2011, the 45th tournament. This is SKKU’s 4th championship.
The game was tied at zero until the 7th inning . WONKWANG University got its chance at the bottom of the 7th with bases full and with only 1 out. However, when the hitter Ko, Joo-ho's hit turned into a double play, their efforts were thwarted.
At the top of the 8th SKKU fought back. With Kim, In-hwan and Kim, Yung’s consecutive hits and Kim, Joseph’s sacrifice bunt, second and third base were full. And with Choe, Jae-hyeok’s hit SKKU led the game by 2, ending the stale mate
Bottom of the 9th WONKWANG Univesity got its final chance with runners at first and third base with 1 out. The hit made by Kim, Min-sung was caught by SKKU first baseman Kim, In-hwan which led to the double out and the end of game.
Also, SKKU pitcher, Yoon, Jong-hyun became the MVP of the game with 2 and ⅔ scoreless innings and only two hits.
