김민선 Views : 6112 Attach ( 0 ) 게시글 내용 SKKU Graduate School of Law (Dean: Bong Chul CHOI) SKKU-IEALP successfully held the "Korea - China - Japan Security Law International Symposium" from Friday, Nov. 3 to Sunday, Nov. 5. The "Korea - China - Japan Security Law International Symposium" is an international academic society that was launched 5 years ago. It is held every year in November by security law experts from Korea, China, and Japan to present and discuss the current status and issues of security laws in each country, and to make the presentation and discussion results public. Until now, the academic conference has been held in China with full support. This year, for the first time, Korea's SKKU Graduate School of Law - East Asian Law and Politics Research Center (Director: Chul KWON) managed the conference. For this year's conference, thanks to the consideration of Korean Supreme Court Justice Jae Hyung KIM (former professor at Seoul National University Law School), all conference presenters visited the Supreme Court, followed by a round-table discussion. Afterward, they visited the court library and had a magnificent welcome dinner at Sebitseom, located near the Supreme Court, where participants' favorable comments were received. The conference was held even more abundantly thanks to support from the Research Institute for Asia Private Law (Director: Young Joon LEE) and the CAMPUS Asia Law/Social Science Project. At the symposium held at SKKU Law School, there were a series of presentations and discussions on the current status and issues surrounding the "legal right of security" in the three countries of Korea, China, and Japan. In particular, presenters from Japan and China showed deep interest in the introduction of recent proposals to revise civil law and current status surrounding 'lien' in Korean civil code. Immediately after the luncheon, a program was held to visit Munmyo (Myeongryun-dang, Daeseong-jeon). Presenters from each country expressed that they felt they had come to the cradle of Korean studies by looking around the ancient Sungkyunkwan campus. Intensive and lively presentations and discussions were held from 9:00am to 6:30pm. Afterward, participants went to a restaurant overlooking Changdeokgung Palace and continued their discussions on the legal systems of each country late into the night. On the morning of the 5th, after a general review of successful academic conferences held at SKKU in Korea, the Chinese and Japanese presenters held preliminary discussions on the symposium scheduled to be held next year in Tokyo, Japan, before returning to their homelands.
