Dr. Yao FEI, a researcher at the Institute of Basic Science (IBS), will start working as a professor at The State University of New York Buffalo campus in the USA.
She received her master’s degree from the SKKU Advanced Institute of Nanotechnology (SAINT) in 2013 and acquired her Ph.D. at Ecole Polytechnique in France in the field of Physics. After that, she became a researcher at IBS. With 8 years of experience at SKKU, Dr. FEI moved to the University of Notre Dame and then successfully became a professor at The State University of New York (SUNY).
“SKKU has the best professors and provides various research environments to students studying energy science. SKKU not only established ‘DOES,’ which is a distinctive Department of Energy Science different from other universities, but also appointed excellent researchers in various areas of the energy science field. Also, there are many international joint research opportunities. With these efforts, SKKU’s energy science research ability is world-class and I am sure that SKKU is one of the best places to do research,” said Dr. FEI.
Dr. FEI will focus on developing new materials and technology for energy storage and transfer at SUNY, where the research environment is well-established. As a SKKU family member, she said that she would like to place a bridge between SKKU and SUNY for bilateral exchanges and mutual development.
