Han Jun-hee, youngest Korean to enter Google 2015.04.07

“It is better to work for a goal than to be scared and do nothing” is what 21 year old Han Jun-hee says about his dicision to enter Google, the world’s top IT company, as the youngest Korean ever. “in the end your goal will come true”.

 

On October 5 2014, Han received an acceptance notification from Google. It was titled ‘Google / Touch Base’. I didn’t open the email because it seemed like a spam and the title was weird.” he said “after I knew it was an application mail from Google, I was so happy.”

 

In his modesty, Han says that it was a unexpected gift that he entered Google. However, his achievements are eveidence of his hard work and efforts. At 6th grade he entered the Information Olympiad and received good scores. He then furthered his studies and eventually entered Hansung Sicience High School. Han graduated highschool an year before and entered the Department of Software at Sungkyunkwan University(SKKU). Even after coming into university he participated contests such as ACM and ICPC two years in a row, and eventually received a special award.

 

“I know that there are a lot of obsticles ahead after entering Google, but I will not give up” Han wants to encourage univeristy students to look into the future, and face the uncertainty with  courage. “Without courage or effort, there are no goals to achieve” asserts Han.
