SKKU Law School Team takes Semi-final Standing in International Court Competition 2015.03.18

The Sunkyunkwan University(SKKU) Law School student team ‘Advocacy’ excelled and took the Semi-finalist standing at the ‘5th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot’ being held in Shanghai from March 9 to 13. 

 

The 9 man team took second place in the preliminaries, and over took the German team from ‘Bucerrious University’, a strong contender. to enter the semi-finals as the only asian contender. And at the end took the ‘Semi-finalist Award’ with one member, Jin Gyeong-hun, receiving an ‘Honorable Mention Award.’

 

‘The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot’ is an international moot court competition which is the most prestigious in the field of international law and arbitration, and is annually held in locations such as Vienna, Shangahi, Hongkong etc.

 

“This was only capable through the combined effort of many people. And we hope all the students and the university not be content with our present results, and take a sustained interest in creating a reputation for our law school as having the expertise in the field of international commercial arbitration,” expressed the members, in receiving the award.

 

‘Advocacy’ is made up of 9 students from SKKU Law School and they are Lee Seong-gyu(Leader), Park Ye-eun, Jin Gyeong-hun, Kim Nu-ri, Lee Jeong-in, Ahn Jeong-hyun, Choe Yu-jin, Lee Jae-uk and Sim Su-min.
