Sungkyunkwan university put up the slogan of changing the dynamics of university and innovated a university education with Samsung foundation. Samsung foundation has supported a 100 billion won to Sungkyunkwan university for 19 years. The total amount of support is 1.5 trillion won. The results based on huge investment of effort are appearing now. Sungkyunkwan university took the 140thranking in British QS world university assessment. It also took the 148thranking in THE world university assessment which is the rank first among domestic private universities.
This rapid development is originated from engineering field. Sunkyunkwan university started to renovate education for promoting engineering talents with Samsung foundation. Sungkyunkwan university has drastic research support system for securing the best teaching staff.
The number of SCI paper were 3650 and the size of obtaining research funds were 296 billion won in 2014. These are index of research power and were much improved compared to 2013.(the number of SCI paper were 3780 and the size of obtaining research funds were 220 billion won)
