Humanities university student are now acquiring expertise in information technology(IT). There are no students from the natural sciences and engineering in the ‘coding’ club for using and learning programing or  machine language. Most of the students are from humanities.

“Every field needs IT. I think a fusion between humanities with IT is inevitable.” says Kyung Hee University student Baek Seung-gu.

Universities are now opening lectures on IT for students of humanities.

“The purpose is to produce humanities students with skills in IT so that it will eventually help them in a career after graduation" says Prof. Lee Jee-hyong of Sungkyunkwan University(SKKU)'s Department of Softwear.

The employment rate of humanities  student is 47% which is much lower than stuents from natural sciences or engineering, and this is because of many companies now preferring the two fields over humanities, which in turn prompts the learning of IT with many humanities students.
