Sungkyunkwan Advanced Institute of Nano-Technology and IBS receive attention

A group of Swiss delegates, composed of a minister, an embassador, and university presidents paid a visit to SKKU natural sciences campus located in Cheoncheon-dong, Suwon, to benchmark the innovative and research-focused facility of the school at 10 a.m., July 10th.

The Swiss delegation, in a total of 28 delegates, consisted of Johann Schneider Ammann, the Federal Councillor, Ralph Eichler, the President of ETH Zurich Ralph Eichler along with the 2 other university presidents, and the Ambassador to Korea Joerg Al. Reding attended the seminar regarding SKKU and Sungkyunkwan Advanced Institute of Nano-Tachnology(SAINT) and visited the research facility of IBS Center for Integrated Nanostructure Physics.

The Federal Councillor's comment became an issue because he suggested an interesting parallel theory between Korea and Swiss. He pointed out that both countries are neighbored by powerful nations and are not rich in natural resources.

SKKU president Jun Young Kim remarked: "This gathering is a place to further discuss cooperation in the field of education/research innovation between Korea-Swiss, and active cooperation of exchanges between both countries will play a big role in bolstering the academic research and pursuing the progress of universities of both countries."
