The International Student Orientation was held for about 300 exchange students who will be studying at SKKU for the 2013 Spring Semester at Law School building(2B107) on February 28th(Thursday).
More than 300 exchange/visiting students for the 2013 Spring Semester, which was resulted from the constant efforts of our school to expand the exchange program by quantative/qualitive improvements. Such efforts include: Science without Borders, Campus Asia program, internationalization of each department, opening high-quality English classes, et cetera.
The event started with a welcome speech of Terrence Henderson, the director of the International Office from 1 p.m. It was followed by general introduction of the academic system, dormitory life, HI-Club and MAPLE buddy program. After the introduction, students took part in a campus tour to visit the central library, 600th anniversary hall, international hall, and old Sungkyunkwan building. The last part of the orientation was a reception which was held at International Hall from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
35 participants of MAPLE(Mentoring and Assisting PeoPLE) program, which is one of the STEP(Sungkyun Total Experience Program)s starting this semester, had a chance to join the reception and associate with exchange/visiting students.
