Students from Sungkyunkwan University's (SKKU) Sungkyun Media Art have released the video "Oppan Yusaeng Style", a parody of Korean pop artists Psy's global hit "Oppan Gangnam Style." The song is a fresh and humerous take on the life of the yusaeng, the students who studied Confucianism at SKKU during the Jeoseon Dynasty (1392 - 1897). SKKU's ancient legacy still features in SKKU students' daily lives, both in serious ways (the study of Confucian Philosophy is still part of the curriculum) and in less serious ways, such as this video.

A banner near the main gate might read: "Even senior student Yi Hwang went to this party!" Yi Hwang ofcourse referring to the well-known Korean philospher who lived during the 16th century and features on Korea's 1,000 won currency note. The "Oppan Yusaeng Style" video clip is subtitled in English and Korean. "Oppan" literally means "older brother" in Korean, and this is often how a young woman might address her male love interest.
