Evolution of Summer Semester Programs. Foreign Students swamp Korea. 2011.08.02

Recently, there are increasing numbers of foreign students in Korean universities.

Half of the students are foreign students in a summer semester classroom. The number of foreign students is 470 in this summer semester program. And the size of Korean students is about 500 which are almost the same as the number of foreign students. This university (SKKU) offered 20 international summer semester courses.

Students are from 30 various countries include the United States, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, etc.

 

 

 

 

Marco Couperus (Netherlands NHL University): “The Lecturers seem interesting to me as well. So I was also looking for an academic challenge.”

 

 

 

 

Most of all, except the air fare, the tuition and housing fees are 2/3 compare with the tuition in their home countries.

The university offered high quality programs collaborate with 14 world eminent faculty.

Last three years, we have twice more foreign students studying in summer semester programs in Korean universities than before, as the result of recent increasing interests in Korean culture, the Korean wave.

 

 

 

 

 

Previous International Summer Semester began, 984 students registered.
