Art major student Sumin Yu has won the '人' award in the Chunman Art For Young Competition

Sumin Yu, a student in the art department (class of '19), was selected for the '人' award as an undergraduate student in the second annual Chunman Art For Young Competition in 2024.

The Chunman Art For Young Competition, organized by the Chunman Scholarship Foundation and Samchully Group, selects and awards talents in the field of visual arts among college and graduate students. The judging panel for this competition included prominent experts from South Korea as well as Lauren Young, curator of the Whitney Museum, and Tomoko Yabumae, curator of the Tokyo Contemporary Art Museum.

Sumin Yu plans to continue her artistic activities by focusing on hidden or concealed events and structures for natural landscapes, which she names her concept, 'mukbi-jayeon (默秘自然).'
