College of Education AI Education Enhancement Support Team Holds AI Education Hackathon

The College of Education's AI Education Enhancement Support Team, led by Vice President Jae-hyun Kim of the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus, successfully concluded the 3rd SKKU Artificial Intelligence SW-Education Hackathon over a 2-day period from September 22 (Friday) to 23 (Saturday).

Among the students of the College of Education, 51 outstanding students with an interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) were selected through preliminary evaluations. These students formed teams of 3 to 4 members and collaborated to generate ideas related to solving social issues and developing business services using educational big data. They put their best efforts into technological implementation, prototype development, and presentations during the competition.

As a result, creative ideas and achievements emerged from the students, who used AI technology and educational big data to address issues in the education field, such as AI-based education platforms, instructional design, and tool development. The first prize was awarded to the Computer Education Department's "Streaming Quiz Platform Supporting Professor-Student Interaction in Online Lectures" developed by the team led by Jang Ja-pungdo (Yoon-jae Baek and three others).

During the 2-day event, a total of 15 AI SW-Education ideas and prototypes were discovered, with one team winning the grand prize, one team winning the gold prize, two teams receiving silver prizes, and three teams earning bronze prizes.

Director Jae-hyun Kim expressed hope that through the College of Education's hackathon, held for the third consecutive year, they would take the lead in cultivating talent for AI education and become a foundation for nurturing outstanding talent in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
