In 2015, the Korean Ministry of Education legalized the right for foreign students to have health insurance (national health insurance or medical expense compensation insurance) in case of an accident or illness to ensure that their studies abroad are conducted safely.  Therefore, Sungkyunkwan University has stopped issuing enrollment statements and grade reports for students that do not have health insurance. 

If a foreign student registered health insurance with their admission but does not currently have any, he or she must register for some by June 12, 2005.  Students must submit their name, student ID number, and a copy of their health insurance documentation to the SKKU Office of International Affairs (OIA).
