From July 31 to August 8, SKKU President Dong Ryeol Shin, Vice President of External Affairs Seong Woo Ji, and Director of Start-up Support Center Kyunghwan Kim visited Stanford University, UC Berkeley, Samsung Electronics, and the Center for Global Innovation (KIC) in the western United States, as well as major U.S. start-ups-related institutions such as George Washington University and Johns Hopkins University in the eastern United States.

Start-up Support Center’s I-Corps project team visited Samsung Electronics and the U.S. Start-up-related Global Innovation Center (KIC) to exchange opinions on high-tech semiconductor talent education to share experience in start-ups and technology commercialization of major U.S. universities. In addition, they visited the overseas laboratory start-up education team participating in the I-Corps project supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT to encourage participants. SKKU has 33 teams, the largest number of 135 universities across the country participating in the project.

President Shin decided to cooperate to prepare for the ‘World Sungkyun Alumni Contest’ to be held in North America by holding a meeting with the Northern California Alumni Association and Washington Alumni Association, which were not able to be together due to the prolonged pandemic.

Through this visit, it is expected that the restoration of overseas alumni and global entrepreneurship networks that have been cut off and actual university exchanges will be expanded.
