Dr. Soo-Ji Choi, Department of Chemical Engineering, Selected as the 2021 POSCO Science Fellow



Dr. Soo-Ji Choi, Theranostic Macromolecules Research Center and Department of Chemical Engineering, was selected as the 2021 POSCO science fellow. She received a doctorate in chemical engineering under the guidance of supervisor, Professor Jae-Yoon Kim, in August 2020 and is currently performing Post-doc research.


The POSCO Science Fellowship is a core project of POSCO Cheongam Foundation, which helps young scientists studying basic and applied sciences in Korea to focus on research with pride and stability and grow into a world-class scientist in the future. The Post-docs, who are selected as POSCO Science Fellow, will receive a total of 70 million won over two years.


A total of 63 people applied for the course of post-doc of POSCO Science Fellowship 2021, and 21 professors of expert committee for each of 7 academic fields reviewed the applications based on research plans and research performances. After selecting possible candidates, they received assessments from renowned scientists and held the online interview with 21 professors of the committee, and finally selected 8 researchers.


Dr. Soo-Ji Choi is planning to conduct research on the Development of Artificial Tendon Based on Anisotropic Hydrogels with Superior Mechanical and Adhesive Properties for next two years.
