SKKU-Samsung SDS, Signed a University-Industry 

Collaboration Agreement on Digital Transformation


- Joint research on cultivating AI talents and new digital technology

- Advancement of university’s administration by applying AI platform of Samgsung SDS

- Introducing Samsung SDS ‘ProDS’ to train professional data analysts



                                                                                                         

SKKU announced that a university-Industry collaboration agreement was signed to promote digital transformation of SKKU at Sangsung SDS Jamsil Campus on July 17 (Fri), and Dong-Ryul Shin (President of SKKU) and Won-Pyo Hong (CEO of Samsung SDS) were in attendance.  


With this agreement, the two parties will cooperate on performing joint research to cultivate AI talents and to develop new technology, advancing University’s administration by applying AI platform of Samsung SDS, and introducing Samsung SDS ‘ProDS’ to train professional data analysts.


They will jointly develop education programs to cultivate AI talents. In addition, they will conduct joint research and find tasks to secure prior technologies in the field of new digital technologies such as cloud.


SKKU plans to advance university’s administration by utilizing Samsung SDS’s integrated AI platform, Brighitcs AI, automation solution of work, Brity RPA, and SDS Cloud.


Additionally, SKKU will introduce ‘Pro Data Scientist (ProDS)’, an educational program to train professional data analysts and will assign it as an official certificate in the future to cultivate data analysis experts.


ProDS was officially certified by the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training as civil qualification hosted/performed by Samsung SDS and its subsidiary Multi-campus.



Meanwhile, Samsung SDS has been operating Brightics Academy, a university-industry cooperation program with our university since 2018, supporting various lectures and research such as data analysis, machine learning, deep learning, and data modeling.


Dong-Ryul Shin (President of SKKU) said, "By combining SKKU's excellent research capabilities with Samsung SDS's new digital technologies, we will innovate education, research and administration as a whole and develop it into a leading global AI university."


Won-Pyo Hong (CEO of Samsung SDS) said, "We will work together to strengthen the competitiveness of universities by utilizing core technologies and platform capabilities of Samsung SDS, which are applied to various industries, and to cultivate talent that will lead the digital economy."
