Sungkyunkwan University announced that it has opened the second “Student Success Center” at the Natural Sciences Campus on October 1st. President Dong Ryeol SHIN and other important figures of the university joined the opening ceremony.
The definition of “Student Success” is: growing as a contributor and a responsible member of the society through the active participation in campus activities in an emotionally and physically stable environment.
The Student Success Center will help students by conducting consultation services (major, career path, interpersonal relationship and mental support) and student success programs designed to solve the problems of students.
Since the opening of the first center at the Humanities Campus, the Student Success Center has contributed to enhancing the adjustment of various student groups (disabled, international and returning students) and has spread the mind of student success within the campus.
The general responses of the students were,“I became proud of my university”, “I received mental comfort through the consultation service” and “the programs are very informative; I wish it is held more often”.
The director of the Student Success Center expressed, “Our center will be promoting customized consultation service, student success model, special lectures, student success story contest and mentoring program between professors and students.”
