On September 27th, Hunan Normal University’s East Asian Research Center and College of Foreign Language studies hosted an academic conference on the study of class in East Asia.
More than 30 scholars and experts from 10 universities joined the conference. Participating universities include Sungkyunkwan University’s Academy of East Asian studies (hereafter SKKU AEAS), Yanbian University, Jilin University, Shandong University, Zhejiang University and Nanjing Normal University.
It is the first time that an academic conference is held under the topic “Classics of East Asia” in China. It is also the first academic exchange between SKKU AEAS and Hunan Normal University’s East Asian Research Center ever since the establishment of relationship.
The director of SKKU AEAS Kihyung HAN gave a congratulatory message and mentioned the need to reinterpret the present and past by materializing the ideas and philosophies in a historical perspective.
The participants of the conference presented 19 research papers on East Asian literature, cultural exchange and comparative researches.
