International Academy of Financial Consumers held its 6th forum in Indonesia 2019.08.23

The experts of global consumer finance have met in South-East Asia where mobile-based market is rapidly rising. International Academy of Financial Consumers (hereafter IAFICO) held its 6th forum at Universitas Gadjah Mada in Indonesia on August 19th. The topic of the forum was “Reshaping Investment and Financing through Digital Innovation”.

 

Universitas Gadjah Mada is the most prestigious university in Indonesia that has produced many politicians and scholars such as President Joko Widodo. 350 people from 19 countries came to the university to join the forum. More than 50 lecture and presentations were made in the event.

 

The forum began with the welcoming address by the president of Universitas Gadjah Mada and Chairman of the academy HongjooJUNG. The director of Finance Supervision in Indonesia gave a keynote speech about “status of micro finance market in Indonesia and 8 supervision strategies suggested by the government”. Experts from 19 countries discussed about the development of global consumer finance in the forum.



Chairman Hongjoo JUNG said, “This year’s forum began with the rising interest in consumer finance. The forum has now solidified as a global platform with experts from 19 different countries. It is meaningful that we are able to host the forum in Indonesia where the market for consumer finance has been rapidly increasing. We expect a serious discussion to take place in this forum.”

 

This year is the 6th forum and the next forum will take place in Seoul National University. 2021 forum will be at South Africa University.

 

IAFICO was established in 2014 and it has hosted global consumer finance forums with experts from Korea and other prestigious universities in Asia.
