SKKU–SH ENERGY SOLUTION Inc. signs MOU of
CO2 Reducing Hydrogen Storing System using Solar Cell

SKKU (President Dong Ryeol, Shin) and SH Energy Solution Inc (CEO Sang Gi, Ahn) signed an MOU to develop a CO2 reducing hydrogen storing system using solar cells. The ceremony was at SKKU Natural Sciences Campus, the 2nd General Research Facility conference room. SKKU SAINT Assistant Director Sung Joo Lee, Professor Il Jeon, SH Energy Solution Inc, CEO Sang Gi, Ahn, and Director Byung Won Choi participated in the agreement ceremony.
The two institutions will proceed with research on green-energy storage where hydrogens are acquired from solar light to generate electricity connected to the data center. In January, SH Energy Solution Inc. transferred solar cell and photoelectric hydrolysis-related technologies through Professor Il Jeon. This will be funded for the next two years as an Industry-Education cooperation project to develop an eco-friendlier CO2 reduction hydrogen storage system.
On the other hand, SH Energy Solution Inc.is a company that pursues carbon emission reduction through developing alternative energy and is currently promoting the construction of a data center in Taebaek, Kangwon province. This data center is planned to raise the maximum powergeneration efficiency of solar cells and the basic method of outside aircooling, aiming for the data center with a PUE of less than 1.1.
