Start-up Support Center I-Corp, Selected for the “Best Excellence” Institution

SKKU’s Start-up Support Center was selected for the Korea Innovation Technology Startup center to manage the Korea Innovation Corps Program (I-Corp) by the Ministry of Science and ICT. The period of project is five years, 2021~2025.

Through the partnership with the U.S. National Science Foundation, Korean-style I-Corp is a project that has been promoted since 2018 by benchmarking the I-Corp program operated by the U.S. National Science Foundation according to our situation. The preliminary start-up teams for each Korea Innovation Technology Startup center are conducting education and interviews with 100 potential customers at GW University in Washington to verify the feasibility of the business model. And based on that, it is an innovative and professional program that modifies and supplements startup items.

The project fee of the SKKU is 20.1 billion won for 2021, and it will provide an average of 50 million won per team. Also, it plans to find and support 150 additional teams for M.A., Ph.D., and undergraduate students over the next 5 years.
