College of Education-Daejeon Imun High School Signed Agreement on EDU Tech and AI Convergence Education

- Promote building EDU Tech system and AI Convergence education using AI

The College of Education (Dean Jaehyun Kim) conducted signing agreement for the cooperation of EDU Tech and AI Convergence Education through non-face-to-face online video system with Daejeon Imun High School on January 15 (Fri).

The ceremony was attended by Dean of College of Education Jaehyun Kim, Director of EDU Tech Korea Eunseok Ryu, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Daejeon Imun High School Jaegwang Lee, Principal of Daejeon Imun High School Dongchun Kim, etc.

College of Education has established ‘AI Convergence Education Studies’ in 2020 at Graduate School of Education for the first time in Korea in 2020. It is the only department of computer education in the city among 8 departments of computer education in Korea. Through this agreement, we agreed to actively cooperate in establishing AI convergence education and EDU Tech system with Daejeon Imun High School, which was selected for the 10 leading high schools in Korea (300 million won of support fund per school by government) in 2020 based on our experience on undergraduate/graduate education in the Department of Computer Education.

*A leading high school’s EDU Tech is a pilot project that aims to integrate education and technology in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution covering ICT, STEAM, AI, VR·AR, IoT, Big data, etc.
*The Ministry of Education provides 104.8 million won to universities through ‘Digital Innovation Sharing University Operation Project (Digital Convergence Virtual Campus)’ and Sungkyunkwan University, which leads online education innovation, is known as the best practice case for various non-face-to-face classes including the cutting-edge LMS learning system.

Dean of College of Education Jaehyun Kim said that he will form an EDU Tech Task Force team led by EDU Tech Korea (Director Eunseok Ryu) and Daejeon Imun High School’s Leading High School Group (General Manager Kyungtae Bang) and utilize SKKU’s innovative capabilities in AI and SW convergence education to induce Daejeon Imun High School’s EDU Tech business and AI convergence education to settle on the main track. He also said that he will contribute to the rapid spread of future education by improving the capabilities of prospective teachers, current teachers, and high school students based on AI and EDU Tech in the future.
