SKKU-Intel Korea Signed MOU of Univ-Industry Collaboration on AI Education‧Research

- Promoting a collaboration to fostering AI professionals and establish infrastructure for research

- Operating and jointly developing curriculum of SKK-Intel AI Class



SKKU announced that they promoted  to foster AI professionals and establish infrastructure for research through collaboration with the Intel Korea (CEO. Myungsuk Kwan). The ceremony of MOU was held in Natural Science Campus of SKKU on October 14 (Wed).


Under the agreement, the two organizations plan to cooperate in various fields, including joint development and operation of SKK-Intel AI Class, cooperation in establishing infrastructure and joint research in the field of AI.


Last November, SKKU declared its vision of AI research and education for students’ success and the creation of future value. And they put efforts in fostering human resources suitable for the 4th industrial revolution. In a related development, Sungkyunkwan University designed two subjects, “Problem-Solving & Algorithms” and “ComputingThinking & SW coding”, as essential courses for all students, and newly introduced convergence majors such as “Data Science” and “Informatics”.


In addition, the AI/IoT Education Support Center under Sungkyunkwan University’s Information and Communication Engineering, which has an exclusive laboratory for AI/IoT education, was established in June of 2020. The AI/IoT Education Support Center will jointly organize and operate the SKK-Intel AI Class based on this agreement. 


Myungsuk Kwan, the CEO of Intel Korea, said “With this agreement, students of SKKU will be able to learn about various forms of data collection and preprocessing through AI education programs. Also, it is very meaningful to foster future talents through collaboration, and we hope to continue to cooperate in establishing infrastructure and LMS servers in the future.”


Dongryeol Shin, the President of SKKU, said “This agreement will provide our students with the latest AI knowledge and excellent research environment which is essential in the era of 4th industrial revolution. Also, we will work closely with Intel Korea to realize the value of students’ success and create social values.”
