SKKU and Hanwha Systems signs MoU for the development of AI and Smart Factories 2019.04.05

SKKU and Hanwha Systems have joined hands to promote business and develop technology in the area of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and DT (Digital Transformation).


Jongsuk LEE (Research Director of SKKU Institute of Information Science) and Kyunghan KIM (President of Hanwha Systems) signed a MoU on April 4th at the Pine Avenue in Euljiro. Digital Transformation manufacturing is a core area in the era of 4th Industrial Revolution. Smart factories are an example of DT manufacturing in Korea.


Two parties have agreed to: △Joint research on algorithm of AI and smart factory model △Perform projects based on AI technology △Provide technical advice and consulting service △Promote research-business cooperation.


Hanwha Systems has chosen AI, Smart Factory, Block Chain, Big Data and other technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution as their strategic business area in 2017. Since then, Hanwha Systems focused on educating talents and obtain technologies in the relevant area.


SKKU’s Institute of Information Science is a research institute performing researches such as machine learning and data mining. It specializes in researching AI technology applicable in the manufacturing field. The Institution is acknowledged as a high-tech institution by possessing core national technologies related to the AI based smart factories.
