Huynh Thanh Dat, the President of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, visited SKKU on October 30th and met with our professors including Executive Vice President Sunhae HYUN, Prof. Ho Deok HWANG, and Prof. Yong Tae KIM. They discussed ways to promote bilateral exchange and cooperation in the field of Korean Studies and academic-industrial cooperation.

After the establishment of the Korean Studies Department in 1994, the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City has been promoting Korean Studies and has accommodated about 3,000 Korean students annually as trainees.

Based on this background, the two universities discussed exchange plans between Korean Studies Department at Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and the International Center for Korean Studies (IUC). They also decided to share academic-industrial cooperation and know-how of start-ups.

Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City was founded by the Prime Minister's Office in Vietnam in 1955. It has known for having the largest Korean studies department in Vietnam. It contributes to the development of Ho Chi Minh City with a focus on 4 major areas of urban development (sewage treatment, transportation, start-up and smart city).
