Sungkyunkwan University and Interpark have held hands together to nurture talented individuals through reading.
On September 28th at SKKU Central Library, Sungkyunkwan University and Interpark signed an agreement on 'Building and operating a book lounge' for spreading reading culture and become a prestigious university for reading.
At the ceremony, many representatives were attended including Dr. Sun Hae HYUN, Executive Vice President of SKKU and Mr. Se Hoon JOO, Chair of Book Division of Interpark.
The main content of the agreement is that Interpark and SKKU Library will build a 'Book Lounge' which is a complex cultural space, and will actively cooperate with the infrastructure and resources that are possessed to enhance the literacy and creativity of faculty and students.
'Book Lounge' aims to be an open multi-cultural space that allows users read books, have discussions, hold seminars and lectures.
"The competitiveness of the future society is determined by the knowledge gained from reading," said Sun Hye HYUN, Executive Vice President of SKKU. SKKU will work closely with Interpark to train creative talented individuals through systematic guidance and support. "
"This agreement is expected to help students get closer to books naturally and increase library utilization rates," said Mr. Joo.
