The 5th International Forum on Innovation in Higher Education was held on July 18th (Wed) at Business Building 33B301, with the subject of ‘Student Success in College.’ The forum was hosted by Creative Informatics HRD Unit and Education Innovation Center at SKKU.

 

Due to the rapid change of circumstances of higher education, global leading universities is now emphasizing ‘student success’ as their best value and trying to provide a best campus environment for students’ education. In particular, universities are eager to find high impact practices (systems and programs) so that students can make successful campus life by themselves.

In accordance with this trend, the forum invited Dr. George D. Kuh who introduced the idea of “Student Success and Participation” for the first time. He talked about high impact practices programs that are running by global leading universities. Also, Prof. Sang Hoon BAE (Chair of Education Innovation Center at SKKU) introduced a self-diagnosed tool to see how well each university teaches.

 

At the forum, about 200 people from the government, universities, and research institutes participated and discussed effective strategies and future development plans for higher education innovation.
