Sungkyunkwan University(SKKU) ranked 1st among Korean comprehensive universities in the 2013 Joongang Daily University Assessment. The university rose in the list by 225.20, which is 1.26 higher than last year, placing the best Korean comprehensive universities. The main factor of SKKU's rise in ranking is the combination of improved social reputation, internalization, industry-school cooperation, and employment rate.
The numerical indicators that were largely influential to the result were the enhanced rate of faculty and student recruitment, the percentage of online public lecture and courses provided in English, two indicators in social reputation and one indicator of research funds per professor. SKKU took the leading position and surpassed every other Korean comprehensive university in the aforementioned fields.
