ZERO FOOTPRINT: Fashion Design Department × Patagonia Korea Industry–University Collaboration Exhibition

The Fashion Design Department will showcase the outcomes of its industry–university collaboration project with Patagonia Korea through an exhibition featuring works created in the Zero-Waste Fashion Capstone Design course.

In this project, students creatively upcycled unsold apparel products provided by Patagonia Korea. They conducted in-depth analyses of the environmental challenges facing the fashion industry and explored the potential of Responsible Design. To minimize fabric waste, students developed experimental zero-waste production methods using a variety of techniques, including modular cutting, subtraction cutting, traditional garment patternmaking, weaving, folding, draping, tailoring, and the creative use of off-cuts.

Titled ZERO FOOTPRINT, the exhibition reflects the goal of minimizing one’s environmental footprint—the impact left on the environment. The exhibition will be held from June 9 to 10 at Sungkyun Gallery on the first floor of the Business Building, Humanities and Social Sciences Campus. Through their individual approaches, Fashion Design students explore pathways toward reducing waste to near zero and share the results of their creative investigations with visitors.

Professor Eun Hyuk Yim, who supervised the project, explained, “Visitors will be able to experience not only the final works but also the entire design process through physical archives and documentary films, including ideation, research, motif development, material development, pattern development, prototyping, fitting, lookbook production, and portfolio creation.”

○ Schedule: 06.08, 17:00(Opening) / 06.09–06.10, 10:00–20:00
