Kim Min-sol (Department of Sport Science), a student-athlete on the Golf Team under SKKU’s Sports Teams (Director: Professor Chang Kyung-ro; Head Coach: Kim Ji-chul), won the iM Financial Open on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour.

In the final fourth round held on April 12 at Golfzon County Seonsan in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, Kim recorded a 1-under-par 71 with four birdies, one bogey, and one double bogey. She finished atop the leaderboard with a total score of 11-under-par 277, four strokes ahead of her closest competitors.

This victory marks her third career win on the KLPGA Tour and represents an achievement that has established her as a top-tier player just two years after her professional debut. Its significance was further heightened by the fact that she led for three consecutive days and completed a wire-to-wire victory.

Last year, Kim demonstrated outstanding competitiveness by winning four titles on the secondary tour and adding two wins on the KLPGA regular tour. With this latest victory, she rose to No. 1 in Rookie of the Year points, moving one step closer to claiming the Rookie of the Year title that narrowly eluded her last year.

In a post-match interview, Kim said, “My shots did not feel good today, but the most important thing was believing in myself,” adding, “I am happy to have won sooner than expected, and I will continue striving toward even higher goals.”
