The Startup Support Center of SKKU (Director: Kyung Hwan Kim) announced that they successfully hosted the ‘2026 S-REAC Startup Bridge Day’ on Wednesday, February 4, at the Cho Byung-doo International Hall of the 600th Anniversary Building on the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The event was organized to strengthen the role of ‘S-REAC,’ a metropolitan startup linkage platform encompassing the entire Seoul Capital Area—including northern and southern Gyeonggi Province, Seoul, and Incheon—and to promote the activation of the startup ecosystem in 2026.

S-REAC (SKKU-Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Committee) is a startup support model jointly established by SKKU and regional entrepreneurship promotion committees. It serves as a core body that supports the growth of startup companies by integrating the University’s research capabilities with regional infrastructure. The event was attended by Director Kyung Hwan Kim of the Startup Support Center, along with representatives from major public institutions such as the Gyeonggi Business & Science Accelerator, the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, the Youth Startup Academy of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, and the Korea Technology Finance Corporation. In addition, leading investment firms including Medici Investment and Smilegate Investment, as well as promising prospective entrepreneurs, participated, bringing the total attendance to approximately 150 and contributing to a strong turnout.

The program was composed of a wide range of sessions designed to provide practical support for entrepreneurs. In the morning session, Hee Jong Lee, Director at Medici Investment, delivered a lecture titled “Understanding Venture Capital and the Startup Ecosystem.” Drawing considerable interest from prospective entrepreneurs, he presented survival strategies for startups amid a recently contracted investment market, along with the latest investment trends anticipated for 2026.

In the afternoon session that followed, an “Integrated Briefing on 2026 Startup Support Programs” was held by participating organizations. Major institutions such as the Gyeonggi Business & Science Accelerator and the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation proactively shared information on a variety of support policies scheduled to be implemented this year. At the same time, a “One-on-One In-Depth Consultation Session” took place, where experts in areas such as investment, global expansion, and commercialization listened directly to entrepreneurs’ concerns and provided customized mentoring with concrete solutions.

In particular, the event also featured a supplementary competition for the recruitment of tenant companies for the Jongno Youth Startup Center in Jongno-gu, further heightening the enthusiasm among participants. Through this Startup Bridge Day, SKKU plans to provide systematic follow-up support so that promising companies identified through the event can successfully scale up by linking with various government-supported programs, including the Leading Startup University Project.

Director Kyung Hwan Kim of the Startup Support Center stated, “This event was a meaningful occasion in which universities, public institutions, investment firms, and companies were all connected through the powerful ‘S-REAC’ platform,” adding, “SKKU will continue to take the lead as a hub for global entrepreneurship encompassing the entire Seoul Capital Area and foster future unicorn companies.”

Meanwhile, the Startup Support Center of SKKU has been continuously building a startup ecosystem in which research, education, incubation, and investment form a virtuous cycle. By producing outstanding technology-based startup companies each year, it has made significant contributions to revitalizing the regional economy and creating high-quality jobs.
