Sungkyunkwan University and Samsung Bioepis Sign Industry-Academia Cooperation Agreement

Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement with Samsung Bioepis on March 13. The signing ceremony was attended by Yoo Ji-beom, President of SKKU; Kim Kyung-ah, CEO of Samsung Bioepis; Park Seung-woo, President of Samsung Medical Center; and Jang Yoon-sil, Director of the Samsung Advanced Institute for Health Sciences & Technology (SAIHST).

Under this agreement, Samsung Bioepis will support the development of physician-scientists by offering scholarships to outstanding students at SAIHST who have conducted systematic research in clinical design. Both institutions also agreed to further expand their collaboration in industry-academia initiatives.
Kim Kyung-ah, CEO of Samsung Bioepis, stated, "Through active collaboration with Sungkyunkwan University, we aim to nurture highly skilled professionals early on who will lead future industries. We hope this partnership contributes to South Korea's growth as a global leader in biotechnology and medical sciences." President Yoo Ji-beom responded, "The collaboration between Sungkyunkwan University and Samsung Bioepis will serve as a crucial foundation for advancing the nation's medical and scientific capabilities."
