Rutgers University VP Delegation Signs MOU for Academic and Research Collaboration with Our University
On Tuesday, October 23, our university held an MOU signing ceremony with Rutgers University to establish academic and research collaboration.
The signing took place at the Samsung Library on our Natural Sciences Campus, attended by our President Yoo Ji-beom; Lee Hanjung, Head of International Affairs; Chung Sang-jun, Dean of the College of Pharmacy; Professor Lee Hyo-young (Department of Chemistry); Lee Joon-yeol, Head of the Department of Global Biomedical Engineering; and Professor Chung Ji-heon (College of Medicine). From Rutgers University, the delegation included Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Professor Prabhas Moghe, Vice President for Global Affairs Professor Eric Garfunkel, and a group of 10 faculty members.
Before the signing, Executive Vice President Moghe shared Rutgers University's vision and current developments in education and research, emphasizing potential collaboration in medicine, pharmacy, and biotechnology, particularly with the involvement of faculty from Rutgers Health in this visit.
President Yoo expressed his excitement about exploring new collaboration opportunities with Rutgers University, noting, “We are pleased to explore further possibilities with Rutgers, where we have already initiated exchanges in media communication, library science, and software studies. We look forward to strengthening mutual cooperation across a variety of fields in the future.”
Following the signing ceremony, the Rutgers delegation visited Samsung Medical Center, where they met with Director Yoon Yeop of the Samsung Advanced Institute for Health Sciences & Technology (SAIHST) to discuss potential avenues for collaboration. They also discussed plans for matching faculty members by research area to develop concrete research partnerships.
