Office of International Relations, Successful Completion of the 2024 Summer SKKU-BA-DIVE Program
On Thursday, August 22, Office of International Relations held the results presentation for the 2024 Summer SKKU-BA-DIVE Program at the International Hall of the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus.
The SKKU BA DIVE (Self-directed Global Learning Experience with Peers) program, which began in 2022 with the goal of fostering a global mindset through self-directed global experiences, has now completed its fifth session. A total of 47 teams and 243 students have participated in the program up to this summer semester.
In the 2024 Summer SKKU-BA-DIVE, 10 teams consisting of 57 students visited countries such as Australia, the United States, and the Netherlands to carry out various projects.
▲ Team ChekChekChat
The "ChekChekChat" team was recognized as the best team for their accurate identification of issues in South Korea's multicultural society, selecting a relevant topic, and creating a bilingual children's book because of their activities, which they further connected to volunteer work.
▲ Team Better: EEE
The "Better:EEE” team, which explored ways to apply U.S. cases to the domestic industry by visiting major companies and research institutes with a focus on the global semiconductor and battery markets, was selected as an excellent team.
▲Team SEMI-LIFE
Lastly, the "SEMI-LIFE" team, which conducted a comparative analysis of Taiwan's semiconductor industry with that of South Korea, was selected as the best video team.
Han Jung Lee, the Director of the International Office, praised the participants, saying, "The students took the lead in every step of the process, from team formation to project selection, planning, and execution. The lessons they learned by managing the entire process themselves were well reflected in the results presentation. I hope that future SKKU-BA-DIVE programs will continue to explore innovative topics and that students will use the knowledge and wisdom gained from these experiences to contribute to society."
Meanwhile, the Office of International Relations plans to continue offering various student participation programs, with the selection for the 2024 Winter SKKU-BA-DIVE program scheduled to begin in early October this semester.
