Sungkyun Language Institute
Since its establishment as "Audio-Visual Education Center" in 1964, and its re-organizations taking place from 1996 to the present, the institute has been working to enhance students¡¯ foreign language skills by developing effective teaching methods and materials and offering many language courses.

Korean Language Course
The aim of this course is to introduce Korean language and culture to interested international students. Sungkyun Language Institute (SLI) has highly-qualified teachers and an excellent curriculum based on the Institute¡¯s own textbooks, which reflect the faculty¡¯s years of teaching experience and dedication. The SLI also offers special courses which prepare students for the Test Of Proficiency In Korean (TOPIK), college entrance exams, and a special course on Korean movies. Classes consist of about 15 students. With all of the cultural events, trips, international meetings, help provided by 'Friends' and club activities, SLI provides an outstanding environment for international students to learn Korean both on and off campus. Most of our students are admitted to prestigious Korean universities, including Sungkyunkwan University, after having completed their language course in SLI. Many SLI students pass the Test Of Proficiency In Korean with a very high score which increases their chances of attaining a good job in Korea and in their home countries.

Location
SLI is located on the Sungkyunkwan University¡¯s Humanities and Social Sciences Campus, which is situated in the heart of Seoul near Daehakro. As the cultural, economic, and political center of Korea, Seoul provides infinite opportunities for foreign students. Students can benefit from the city¡¯s rich resources, and are able to put into practice what they have learned in the classroom. In particular, Daehakro, a lively arts, theaters, music, and restaurant quarter in Seoul, provides an exciting environment for student life. Another great place for students to go to is Insa-dong, a 400 meter-long street lined with traditional tea shops, art galleries, antique shops, restaurants and ceramic dealers, where students can witness both traditional and modern Korea.
