As the primary role of pharmacists in the health care system is
being shifted from dispensing and compounding to providing pharmaceutical
care, our college strives to make changes in pharmacy education
to provide students with comprehensive knowledge, skills and leadership
needed to function as pharmacotherapy specialists. Our college has
been consistently ranked among top pharmacy schools in the nation
in terms of undergraduate education, scholarship, graduate research,
publication and grant contracts. Our educational and research capability
is expected to be further enhanced by the acquisition of the new
pharmacy building (125,000 square feet) and the annex research building
for academia-industry collaboration (Drug Research Center 33,000
square feet) that are expected to be completed by February, 2008.
The improved infrastructure as well as the recent implementation
of the 'Brain Korea 21 Center for Excellence in Future Pharmaceutical
Education and Research' program supported by the Ministry of Education
for the period from the year 2006-2012 will help accomplish our
goals to compete with top pharmacy schools worldwide.
